The Star Wars events take place in a far away fictional galaxy. There are many alien creatures including humanoids that play their roles out in the story. Many robotic droids were very common in the galaxy and were usually built to serve their owners. Space travel was the only way to travel from planet to plant at that time. Many of the planets in the fictional galaxy were members of a Galactic Republic, that later became the Galactic Empire following a reorganization.
The “Force”, which is an omnipresent form of energy harnessed only by those with the ability, was one of the prominent elements of Star Wars characters. It is described in the first released movie, Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, as “an energy field created by all living things that surrounds the people, penetrates them, and helps to bind the galaxy together.” The Force allows users that posses it to perform a variety of supernatural feats such as telekinesis, clairvoyance, precognition, and mind control. Those posing the Force can also amplify certain physical traits, such as speed and reflexes. These abilities varied from user to user and could be improved through special training. The Force could be used for good or evil. Those on the dark side when they pursued the Force develop behaviors of hatred, aggression, and malevolence. The six movies feature the Jedi, who used the Force for good, and Darth Vader, who used the dark side for evil as he tries to take over the galaxy.
